How Much Change Can We Really Handle???

How Much Change Can We Really Handle???

I know, I’ve said “if you don’t like change you’ll like irrelevance even less.”  But really, how much change can we handle?  I mean, there’s flexibility, adaptability, resilience and then flat out “change.”  I struggled a bit this week to write due to so much change coming from so many directions.  In lieu of getting my mind wrapped around a single narrative, I’ve compiled some examples of what I’m going to call “BC” (Before Covid) and “AC” (After Covid).

Now, here’s the kicker – I wrote these in March.  I think most have hit the mark, other than “Meetings.”  I would say the idea of fewer meetings was more of a hope than reality.  However, now it seems we’re on even more Zoom, Teams and WebEx meetings than before.

Between school opening plans, masks, social distancing, lockdowns, no lockdowns, more home schooling (virtual), sports, no sports, open, close, holiday celebrations, no celebrations, it’s all been just a bit overwhelming lately.  We started 2020 with everyone overusing the theme “2020 Vision” – so optimistic, quickly replacing it with the term “New Normal.” Such a drastic change, no wonder we’re all suffering from a metaphorical whiplash. I do hope everyone stays safe and healthy while coping as best as you can.   Till next Wednesday!
